A.C. Arezzo


Atletico Arezzo (formerly A.C. Arezzo) is an Italian football club based in Arezzo, Tuscany. The club was formed in 1923 and will play the 2009-10 season in Italian Lega Pro Prima Divisione. The club made its return in the Serie B in 2004 after 11 seasons between Serie C and Serie D divisions. The team's home colours are all amaranth. The away colours are all white. At the end of the 2009-10 Lega Pro Prima Divisione season the club went bankrupt and a new club with the current denomination was entered in Serie D.

The club was founded on September 9, 1923, by a group of friends, and football fans, as Juventus Football Club Arezzo (in honour of Juventus F.C.). In 1930, following a merge with several other minor Arezzo teams, the club became Unione Sportiva Arezzo, which was admitted in 1935 to new-born Serie C division. The team was relegated from Serie C in 1953, following several financial troubles, returning to Serie C division five years later.

Piast Gliwice


Gliwicki Klub Sportowy Piast Gliwice is a Polish football club based in Gliwice, Poland. Founded in June 1945 by the Poles who had been forced to leave their homeland in present-day Western Ukraine, Piast's football team played as many as 32 seasons in the Polish Second Division, before finally being promoted to the Ekstraklasa in 2008. Having played two seasons in the top division, the club was relegated in 2010. Piast have twice (1978, 1983) managed to reach the final of the Cup of Poland, losing on both occasions. The club's name comes from the Piast dynasty, which ruled Poland from its beginnings as an independent state in the 10th century, until 1370.

After the 1956 fusion of the three different clubs, GKS Gliwice was formed. Piast continued to play their matches on ul. Robotniczej. In 1964, the 2 clubs merged together. The new club name was GKS "Piast" Gliwice.

FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt



FC Ceahlăul Piatra Neamţ is a Romanian football club based in Piatra Neamţ, established on October 20, 1919.

The club's home ground is Ceahlăul Stadium with a capacity of 18,000 seats. Team colors are, starting with the 2006/07 season, orange, yellow and black.

The club takes its name from the Ceahlău mountain

Ceahlăul played in the Liga I between 1993 and 2004, after which the team relegated for the first time since its promotion, to the Liga II. They promoted back to the Liga I for the 2006–2007 season. They were supposed to play in the Liga II for the 2007/08 season after finishing 15th out of 18 teams, but Liga II team Delta Tulcea could not obtain the license for the 2007/08 season of Liga I, so Ceahlăul played in its place. But it was a short lived joy, because it relegated once again, only to promote imediatly after. The objective for the 2009/10 season of the Liga I is to avoid relegation. This objective seems to be a very hard one to achieve, because at the end of the first half of the championship we see the club on the last position, 18th.

FC Unirea Dej


Unirea Dej is a Romanian professional football club from Dej, Cluj County, Romania, founded in 1921.

They currently play in the Liga III, Seria IV in the 2009-2010 season after finishing 15th in the Liga III, Seria VI in the 2008-2009 season.

It is one of Romania's oldest football teams, although it never reached Liga I.

Unirea's current home field, Stadionul Unirea, has 5,000 seats. In 2004, Unirea Dej became the second team of CFR Cluj, until the summer of 2007. It has an average audience of about 300 fans.

From September 2008 the club is in collaborations with AC Milan. The Italian club wishes to build a sports base for young players. "We will be an associated club with AC Milan, and Unirea shorts will have Milan's crest," said a staff member.

Queen's Park F.C.


Queen's Park Football Club are an association football club based in Glasgow, Scotland. The club are currently the only amateur club in the Scottish League; their amateur status is reflected by their motto, Ludere Causa Ludendi - to play for the sake of playing.

Queen's Park are the oldest Association football club in Scotland, having been founded in 1867, and are the oldest outside of England and Wales,[1] and play in the oldest football stadium in the world that is still in use today, Hampden Park, Scotland's National Stadium.

The club's home is one of 29 UEFA elite stadia, the all-seated Hampden Park in south east Glasgow, which is also the home of the Scottish national team. Queen's Park have won the Scottish Cup the third most times of any club, behind Rangers and Celtic, although the last time they won it was in 1893.

Carpi F.C. 1909


Carpi Football Club 1909 are an Italian football club located in Carpi, Emilia-Romagna. They currently play in Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. Their colours are white and red.

The club was founded in the summer of 1909 by local student Adolfo Fanconi as Jucunditas (Latin for "gaiety"), and changed their denomination to Associazione Calcio Carpi a few years later. Starting from the 1930s, they mostly played between Serie C and Serie D. Carpi achieved their best result in 1997, a third place under coach Luigi De Canio which allowed them to play the Serie B promotion playoffs then lost to Monza. The club was cancelled in 2000 following relegation to Serie D and subsequent bankruptcy; a new club, named Calcio Carpi, was therefore admitted to Eccellenza. The club assumed the current denomination in 2002, following promotion to Serie D.

Scarborough F.C.


Scarborough Football Club was an English football club based in the seaside resort of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. They were one of the oldest football clubs in England, formed in 1879, before they were wound up on 20 June 2007, with debts of £2.5 million.

In the 2006–07 season Scarborough competed in the Conference North. They started the season with a 10-point deduction, for a breach of league rules, and finished in 20th place which would have resulted in their relegation to the Northern Premier League. Their last ever game, on 28 April 2007, was a 1–0 win at Hucknall Town. A new club was established by the Seadog Trust under the banner Scarborough Athletic on 25 June 2007, and one year later a new club, Scarborough Town, also came into existence.

The club was formed in 1879 by members of the town's cricket team, and played their earliest games at the cricket ground in North Marine Road. The football club soon moved to the nearby Recreation Ground.[5] In 1898, Scarborough Football Club made the move across town to the Athletic Ground in Seamer Road and remained there until 2007, though the ground was renamed The McCain Stadium in a pioneering sponsorship deal in 1988.

Mansfield Town F.C.


Mansfield Town Football Club are an English football club from the former mining town of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The are nicknamed The Stags and play in their traditional colours of amber and blue. The play in the Conference National, following their relegation from the The Football League in the 2007–08 season. They competed in The Football League from 1931 until their relegation.

The team's home ground is Field Mill, which holds 10,000 seated spectators. In 1995 the club considered building a new stadium in the town, but opted to re-develop their existing ground instead. The re-developed ground consists of three new stands, whilst an old, now condemned wooden stand completes the ground on the Bishop Street (East) side of the ground where there are plans to build a high-tech new one for TV programmes and cameras.

Chamois Niortais F.C.


Chamois Niortais Football Club (often referred to as simply Les Chamois) is a French association football club based in the commune of Niort, in the Deux-Sèvres department of western France. It was founded in 1925 by Charles Boinot, the son of the owner of a local chamois leather factory. The club's badge shows a chamois goat standing on a football. The club's home stadium is the Stade René Gaillard in Niort, which has a capacity of 10,898 although in the last 20 years attendances have generally averaged below 5,000 per match due to the club's relatively small fan base. Chamois Niortais has traditionally played in an entirely blue home strip, although away strips regularly differ.

For the first 20 years of the club's existence they played in local leagues around the Centre-Ouest region. In 1945, after the Second World War, the side joined the Championnat de France amateur. They achieved promotion to Division 3 in 1970 and stayed in the division for the following eight seasons. Between 1980 and 1984, the team played in Division 4 before winning promotion back to Division 3. The club gained professional status for the first time the following year when they were promoted to Division 2. After another promotion in 1987, they played in Division 1 for the only time in the 1987–88 season, but were relegated after one season. Chamois Niortais were relegated to the Championnat National in 2008. For the 2009–10 season the Chamois Niortais senior team plays in the Championnat de France Amateurs Group C, the fourth tier of the French football league system. The club were relegated from the Championnat National on 29 May 2009, thereby losing their professional status.

Tours FC


Tours Football Club is a French football club based in Tours. It was founded in 1919. They play at the Stade de la Vallée du Cher.

The club had its best years in the eighties, playing four seasons in Ligue 1 (1980-1983 and 1984-1985).

The team was founded in 1919 as AS Docks du Centre and quickly changed its name to AS du Centre in 1921.In 1951, the Docks du Centre withdrew from the club, which changed its name to FC Tours.The team enjoyed some successes thanks to player-coach Alfred Aston who lead the club to round of 64 of the Coupe de France.

The team got promoted in Division 1 in 1980 and signed best goalscorer Delio Onnis from AS Monaco FC, who helped the team for three years.But in 1983, the team was relegated. However, the team reached twice the semi-finals of the Coupe de France, in 1982 and 83, being eliminated twice by Paris SG.In 1984, the team won the Division 2 title and came back in Division 1 but was relegated after one season at the top level.Since 1985, Tours never managed to come back in Division 1.

The club was relegated from Ligue 2, finishing last after a desastrous season, despite some individuality such as Cédric Collet, Mehdi Benatia or Michel Rodriguez. During the season, Albert Falette, manager for eight years was sacked. At the end of the season, the club released or sold almost all its players, including captain David Fleurival. The club only kept long-time goalkeeper Armand Raimbault and young prospect Rudy Wendling. The team for the 2007-2008 season has a new look, with the arrival of Diego Sebastian Gomez or Anthony Robic.

Aviron Bayonnais FC


Aviron Bayonnais Football Club is a French association football team founded in 1935. They are based in Bayonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, France and are currently playing in the Championnat National. They play at the Stade Didier Deschamps in Bayonne, which has a capacity of 3,500.

They are part of the same sports club as rugby union club Aviron Bayonnais.

Burton Albion F.C.


Burton Albion Football Club (pronounced /ˈbɜrtən ˈælbiən/) are a professional English association football club based in the town of Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. The club's home ground is the Pirelli Stadium, having moved from Eton Park in 2005. Brentford Football Club are a professional English football club based in Brentford in the London Borough of Hounslow. They are currently playing in Football League One.

They were founded in 1889 and play their home games at Griffin Park, their home stadium since 1904. Brentford's most successful spell came during the 1930s, when they achieved consecutive top six finishes in the First Division. Since the War, they have spent most of their time in the third and fourth tiers of English football. Brentford have been FA Cup quarter-finalists on four occasions, and have twice been Football League Trophy runners-up.

Oxford United F.C.


Oxford United Football Club is an English association football club based in Oxford, Oxfordshire. The club play in League Two, following promotion from the Conference National in May 2010. The club had been a non-League side since their relegation from the Football League in the 2005–06 season. The club's chairman is Kelvin Thomas and the first team is currently managed by Chris Wilder. The team is currently captained by James Constable.

Oxford United were founded in 1893 as Headington United, adopting the current name in 1960. Oxford joined the Football League in 1962 after winning the Southern Football League, reaching the Second Division in 1968. After relegation in 1976, between 1984 and 1986 the club earned successive promotions into the First Division, and also won the League Cup. Oxford was unable to enter the 1987 UEFA Cup because of the UEFA ban on English clubs in European competitions. Relegation from the top flight in 1988 began an 18-year decline which saw the club relegated to the Conference in 2006. This was the first time in the history of English football a team that had won a major trophy was relegated from the Football League. After four seasons, Oxford were promoted to League Two on 16 May 2010 after a 3–1 win over York City in the Conference National play-off Final at Wembley Stadium.

Chester City F.C.


Chester City Football Club was an English football team from Chester. The club was founded as Chester F.C., and joined the Football League in 1931, spending most of their time in the lower divisions. They changed their name to Chester City in 1983. Chester won their first league title in 2004, the Conference National. Chester played their home games at the Deva Stadium. The ground and stands are geographically inside Wales with just the club offices situated in England. Until 1990, the club played at Sealand Road.

Following repeated financial problems during the 2009–10 season, which also affected many of their fixtures, the club was served with a winding-up order by HM Revenue & Customs in January 2010. The club was put up for sale,suspended from the Conference National for breaches of league rules, and later expelled from the league in February 2010. The club's league results for the season were expunged and the club, after attempting to join the Welsh Premier League, was formally wound up in March 2010.Shortly after, a successor club was formed who will play in the Northern Premier League Division One North for their first season and play their games at the Deva Stadium.

Leca F.C


Leça Futebol Clube, better known as Leça FC or simply Leça, is a Portuguese football club located in the town of Leça da Palmeira, Matosinhos. Founded in 1912, they currently play in the Portuguese Second Division and, in the previous season of 2007-08, they finished 10th in the division. They currently play their home games at the Estádio do Leça FC, which holds a capacity of 12,000 spectators. The current chairman is Fernando Monteiro and their current manager is Serbian Milic Jovanović. The club's shirt and socks are white while their shorts are green. Their kit manufacturer is Umbro.

The club is most known for its football team that now competes in the Liga de Honra, the second highest level of football in Portugal. The team participated in the Portuguese Liga from 1995 to 1998 but a decision taken by the Portuguese Football Federation based on past acts of corruption decided to relegate Leça to the Liga de Honra for 1998-99 season. The team was expected to fight for promotion but the efforts were not enough to bring the team to the top level again. In the upcoming years, the club was affected by financial problems that cut some of the desire of wanting the team back to the top. Because of the team's lower budget, new goals where set. The main goal was now to make the club financially secure and then try to put the team back on the first division.

Chesterfield F.C.


Chesterfield Football Club is an English football club based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The club currently plays in Football League Two, the fourth tier of English football. Despite being the 4th oldest Football League club in England, they have spent most of their existence in the lower divisions of the English league and have never played in the top flight. They first joined the Football League in the 1899-1900 season, but failed re-election in 1908/09. They were later founder members of Football League Third Division North in 1921-22 and have remained in the Football League since. The club enjoy a fierce local rivalry with near neighbours Mansfield Town, as well as other rivalries with Notts County, Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Grimsby Town and Doncaster Rovers.

Chesterfield's most notable successes came in the 1990s, when they won the Division Three playoff final at Wembley in 1995 and reached the FA Cup semi-finals two years later. They were the first club from outside the top two divisions to reach this stage of the competition since 1984 (Plymouth Argyle).

Chesterfield play their home games at the 10,338 capacity B2net Stadium, having moved from their old home Saltergate, for the 2010-11 season.

Bath City F.C.


Bath City Football Club are a semi-professional football club based in Bath, Somerset. They will play in the Conference National for the 2010-11 season after gaining promotion from the Conference South via the play-offs in May 2010. Their manager (since October 2008) is Adie Britton.

Formed in 1889 as Bath AFC, Bath City's history is entirely in non-league football partly because of the election system formerly used to control entrance to the Football League. They changed their name to Bath Railway in 1902 before settling on the name Bath City F.C.

After many years playing in the upper echelons of non-league football they spent a decade in the Southern Football League after being relegated from the Conference in 1997.[4] They were promoted to the Conference South by winning the Southern League in the 2006-07 season. They have an excellent cup tradition, reaching the FA cup third round no fewer than six times. In 2004 they continued this when they lost in the FA Cup second round to Peterborough United and in the third round of the FA Trophy to Canvey Island. In 2009, City beat Football League Two side Grimsby Town in the FA Cup first round, only to lose to Forest Green Rovers in the second round.

Everton Football Club are an English professional football club from the city of Liverpool. The club competes in the Premier League, the highest level in English football. They have competed in the top division for a record 107 seasons, they have played more top-flight league games than any other English team and have won the League Championship nine times—the fourth highest of any team.[2] Everton have remained in the top division since 1954, and were founder members of the Premier League in 1992.

Formed in 1878, Everton were founding members of The Football League in 1888 and won their first league championship two seasons later. Following four league titles and two FA Cup wins, Everton experienced a lull in the immediate post World War Two period until a revival in the 1960s, winning two league championships and an FA Cup. The mid-1980s represented their most recent period of success, with two League Championship successes, an FA Cup, and the 1985 European Cup Winners' Cup—their first continental trophy. The club's most recent major trophy was the 1995 FA Cup.

Manchester City F.C.


Manchester City Football Club is an English FA Premier League football club. The club is based at the City of Manchester Stadium, the fifth-largest stadium in the league and sixth-largest nationally.

The first known competitive fixture was played in November 1880, when the side was known as St. Mark's (West Gorton); they then became Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887 before changing their name to Manchester City Football Club in 1894. The club's most successful period was in the late 1960s and early 1970s when they won the League Championship, the FA Cup, the League Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup under the management team of Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison and with players including Colin Bell, Mike Summerbee and Francis Lee.

Liverpool F.C.



Liverpool Football Club is an English professional football club based in Anfield, Liverpool. The club currently plays in the Premier League, of which it was a founding member in 1992, and has competed in European competition every year since the 1999-2000 season. The club were founded in 1892 after Everton moved to Goodison Park from Anfield, after a dispute over rent. Liverpool have played at Anfield since their foundation, plans to move to a new stadium in Stanley Park have been put on hold because of the lack of funds due to the current economic climate.

Having won a joint-record 18 league titles, seven FA Cups and a record seven League Cups, Liverpool is is the joint most successful club in the history of English football and one of the wealthiest and most widely supported football teams in the world.[2] The club was purchased in 2007 by George Gillett and Tom Hicks in a deal that valued the club at £218.9 million.

The Heysel Stadium disaster made the club infamous in Europe; 39 Juventus fans died after a wall collapsed as they fled from charging Liverpool fans. The club were involved in a worse disaster four years later — the Hillsborough Disaster — which saw the death of 96 Liverpool fans in a crush against perimeter fencing. Both disasters have had wide-ranging impacts on English and European football, and the club, to this day.

Liverpool have played at Anfield since forming. Plans to move to a new stadium in Stanley Park by 2011 have been put on hold until economic conditions improve. Liverpool have a very large fan base which holds long-standing rivalries with Manchester United and Everton, against whom they contest the Merseyside derby.

Chelsea Football Club are an English professional football club based in west London. Founded in 1905,they play in the Premier League and have spent most of their history in the top tier of English football. Chelsea have been English champions four times, FA Cup winners six times and League Cup winners four times. Football Club Internazionale Milano, commonly known as Internazionale or Inter, is an Italian professional football club based in Milan, Italy. Outside Italy, the club is often called Inter Milan.[2][3] Inter are the champions of Italy, their win in 2009–10 being a fifth successive title, equalling the all-time record.[4] Inter are also the reigning European champions.
